About Us

Purple Cake Factory was set up by Director, Sarah Drane, in 2004 to fill a gaping hole on the Costa del Sol for top quality writing and informed marketing advice at a reasonable price. The company has naturally grown to serve an international client base beyond southern Spain.

Sarah began working life as a Supervisor for Woolworths specialising in kids' clothes and pic n mix, hardly media, but finally in 2001 her PR career began as PA to the MD of a London-based PR agency specialising in property with clients such as Berkeley Homes, London Town plc and DTZ Residential. Sarah was rapidly accelerated from PA to Account Executive to Account Manager before leaving for Spain in April 2002.

Sarah has recently had her own work published for A Place in the Sun Magazine, Ryan Air Magazine and the Channel 4 Homes website on countries as diverse as Morocco, Brazil, Hungary and of course, her home, Spain. Sarah has also appeared on BBC's Living in the Sun, BBC Radio and Channel 4's Richard & Judy as a property expert.
